What's In It For Us?

About Me:

I was born in 1950. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church and was born again in 1961. I was active in church youth activities in my growing up years. I had some strong encounters with the Holy Spirit in my youth but I wasn’t much of a Christian. I was married in April of 1972. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972 with a BBA in Industrial Management. I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1972 and went to Virginia for my Officers Basic Class. In Virginia my wife met a very strange person.
My wife worked with someone who went around saying “Praise the Lord” all the time. She said she went to a Full Gospel church that believed in speaking in tongues and divine healing. Like the good Baptist boy that I was, I said, “The days of miracles are over” (I am not sure where that came from) and I asked for Scriptural references. She gave us references. We then decided to visit her church. We started attending Full Gospel churches. My wife grew up Roman Catholic and wanted to go back. The church close to us got a Spirit-filled pastor and God had me join the Catholic Church.
Working in the family printing business, I spent a lot of time in my car. I was able to listen to a lot of good teaching from a variety of Christian teachers. I added to that a lot of teaching tapes and Christian television.
God has made it possible for me to spend time writing, so I began writing to remind my five children of the things I taught them growing up. The writings you see here and what will added in the future were first meant for my children. I have five grown children and nine grandchildren.
